High waist pants used to horrify me.  All I could picture was mom jeans from the 80's. But when I had the chance to try on a pair from American Apparel, I realized I was in the middle of a new love affair. It all depends on the cut and the color, and trust me, designers are really stepping up their game these days and we've come a long way from those mom jeans.
