Found a sweet little corner bakery in Philly this weekend. I was downtown with a friend for a store opening and we got a little ravenous along the way. Delicious panini's and the best tasting coffee! Perhaps it was my parched palette that lent to this conclusion, however delicious nonetheless!

SNOW DAYS IN PHILADELPHIA

I love that point in a friendship where it's simply okay to be. Silence is okay, and there's no pressure to make things interesting and fun, but rather two people who enjoy the same things and doing that as friends.

Saturday I went down into Philly with my friend Alex. Since we're both a bit camera obsessed we didn't mind standing in the cold with frozen fingers and flushed cheeks to get a shot or two. It was nice to be intentionally creative and let things just come.

Alex also introduced me to a new-to-me book store near the art museum (more photos from there to come). I got nine books for $18! They were all in great condition and I can't wait to spend more snow days delving into them.

MIDNIGHT IN PARIS

This is the kind of film that really starts something inside you. It's been in my queue for a little while now, and I decided now was the time to finally sit down and watch it. But beware, it's not for the faint of heart. Gil gets the chance we all dreamers dream of, and that is to live in Paris in the 1920's. Think Eliot, Hemingway, Fitzgerland, lovers, alcohol, and lots of writing. Woody Allen does it again.

FRUIT PIZZA

There's about ten years between me and my younger sisters, and something that felt through the gap was fruit pizza. My Mom used to make this treat all the time when me and the "older sibs" were just youngin's. But after a while it just....fell through the cracks. So naturally it was my civic duty to introduce my younger sisters to this treat. It was my pleasure! It's super simple to make. If you're interested in trying a hand, click through for the recipe!

Ingredients:

sugar cookie dough
assortment of fruit (we used kiwi, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, and pineapple
1 block of cream cheese
1 cup of powder sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions

Mix 1 block of cream cheese, 1 cup of powder sugar, and 1 tsp. of vanilla extract. (It's easiest to mix when the cream cheese has been sitting out for a little bit and has turned soft).
Cook the sugar cookie dough for as long as the instructions say to (our batch took about 15 minutes in our oven, but it varies). Let the baked cookie stand for 10-15 minutes.
Spread the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla mixture on top of the cookie.
Cut and lay down fruit!
Fin!
Share with your neighbor.
