On My Nighstand: A House In The Sky
As you know, I'm all about memoirs right now. This book, A House In The Sky, has got to be one of my favorites from the past year.
A House In The Sky is about a curious Canadian who's passion for travel led her to a happenstance career as a TV reporter. Amanda Lindhout went to Somalia in August of 2008, in the middle of a civil war. Not long into her stay, Amanda was captured by a military insurgent group and held hostage for 15 months. This memoir is about her time in captivity.
If you're looking for a book you won't want to put down, this is the one.
