When I started my blog in 2008 I chose to host on blogger.com for the coding and design flexibility that WordPress wasn't yet offering to free blog accounts, and I haven't looked back! So far it's served the needs of my little online journal and in recent years some really great responsive themes are being designed that look just as spiffy as blogs hosted on WordPress or Squarespace.
